WICKED HEARTS, WICKED ACTIONS
Then the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other Puah, “When you serve as midwife to the Hebrew women and see them on the birthstool, if it is a son, you shall kill him, but if it is a daughter, she shall live.” — Exodus 1:15-16

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil… —Isaiah 5:20
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. —Matthew 12:35
For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. —Matthew 15:19
Evil comes from the heart of a person, from the core of who the person really is. Evil thoughts stored up in a person are brought out in evil actions. The evil ways of man are violent and “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.”
Pharoah was promoting what was evil as something good when he commanded the Hebrew midwives to kill all the male babies born alive. He promoted infanticide—- no, actually, he commanded it. This was the evil that was in his heart and now it came out in evil actions.
The evil of man’s heart cannot change, does not change. The only way change can come is when God “will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26). This can only happen when a person calls on the name of the Lord because—
“There is no one righteous, not even one. There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The venom of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery lie in their wake, and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” —Romans 3:10-18
Recently the born alive protection act was passed by over government. This protects children born alive after a botched abortion. https://www.foxnews.com/media/abortion-survivors-blast-democrats-opposing-born-alive-bill-disingenuous It passed with a slight majority. The same evil spirit of Pharaoh that commanded infanticide is still promoting infanticide through those in our government. There are those who call evil good and good evil. The evil heart of man can only be changed by transformation through a relationship with God through our Lord Jesus. Evil, wicked hearts will continue to push for evil, wicked actions. That is what happens in a sinful, fallen world that rejects God’s ways. It is sad, but should be no surprise to those who follow Jesus.
