STICK TO THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL— THE WORD OF GOD!
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. —Galatians 1:6-10

The gospel of Christ will be and is distorted by many who claim to be His followers. We are living in a time where another gospel, another Jesus is being preached (Galatians 1:6; II Corinthians 11:4). Wow… really?

- 42% seek moral guidance primarily from sources other than the Bible
Paul said to the Galatians that He was “astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.” And so, there are many that are distorting the gospel of Christ today! This is a very serious matter. If you are attending a local church that is not standing on the authority of God’s Word alone and that believes that the sinless, spotless Lamb of God sinned— then speak the Truth there or flee to a local church that is being faithful to the Word of God!
Paul made it clear that “even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.” Twice Paul says of those preaching a different gospel to “let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:8-9) The word accursed means to be “doomed” and “separated from Christ, given up for destruction.” Those preaching a different gospel, a different Christ show themselves as to who they are— “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve” (II Corinthians 11:13-15).
Apostasy and deception are a couple signs that the end is getting closer. How close are we? The signs are meant to direct us and encourage us to “consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25). So, brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, let us be encouraging each other on and let us beware of those preaching a different gospel and different Christ. Be dependent on each other and preach the gospel!
