LIVE OUT YOUR FAITH IN JESUS!
Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” —Acts 21:13
How challenging this is to me! Is it to you? The brothers and sisters knew Paul would be arrested as prophesied by Agabus. They pleaded with Paul that he not go up to Jerusalem. How did Paul respond? He said, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” So, the question I have for myself, and for you, is— Am I willing to go where my Lord would have me go, even if it means that I may “not only to be bound, but also to die… for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
How could Paul say that? It is because he absolutely lived out what he believed. He said,
“I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.” —Philippians 1:23-26
Paul lived to help others progress in their faith, to encourage joy in their faith. And if he were to be arrested or die “for the name of the Lord Jesus,” he was fine with that because our Lord was in control and if he died, he would be with our Lord! What is better than that! Is that how we truly believe? A number of years ago I had a sister in the Lord say to me, “If I really believe what I say I believe, then why don’t live like I say I believe?” Good question for all of us to ask!
Dear Father, may I faithfully live out what I believe by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, may this be so and all for Your honor and glory! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7QNmLh7tQA&list=RDu7QNmLh7tQA&start_radio=1
