GREAT IS OUR LORD!
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. —Psalm 145:3
All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you. They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. —Psalm 145:10-13
How great is our Lord? Just look around at what He has created! Songbirds are chirping out the melodies He has given them. Clouds burst forth their water, raining on the earth. He designed this to sustain life. Look at the beauty of the sunrises and sunsets, rainbows (the promise picture from Noah’s day that He would not judge the world again by a world-wide flood), gaze into the vast universe at night, see the creativity He has given man—which comes from His creativity. And on and on and on we could speak of His greatness.
How much do you actually know? All of us are limited in knowledge. Sure, some know more than others as we are not “cookie-cuttered” to be the same. So much information around us. Solomon said, “Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body” (Ecclesiastes 12:12). That was said about 3,000 years ago! How much more does this apply with all the technology we have to mass produce?
For those who will acknowledge Him, “All your works praise you, Lord.” They surely do. Right now, the sun is just starting to come up. Faint purple colors the clouds out my window on a backdrop of barely recognizable very light blue. The purple is darkening as I write. Such beauty is beyond man to exactly duplicate— thought he tries and rightly so. Yes, truly, ““All your works praise you, Lord” and bring us much joy as we ponder them. More clouds are becoming purple and the blue sky is brightening. Thank You, Dear Father, for the joy of Your morning works watched.
Imagine the beauty of heaven when we still see such beauty in this fallen, sinful, groaning creation! All His works “tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.” Do you understand these acts from Him? His kingdom is glorious splendor, far beyond what we can see. Are you part of His everlasting kingdom? Are you in His dominion that “endures through all generations?” I pray that is the case as you read this because “The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.” Man will fail you to some degree, but our Lord Jesus will never fail you. You can fully trust Him!
I am so grateful, Dear Father, for all You are and for all You do. Thank You for impacting my life and now may I seek to be and do what You desire by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. May this be so for Your honor and glory and the benefit of others.
And now red is outlining the clouds… the joy of the morning! Be pleased to bless the day, Lord! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaP8fKAR2Og&list=RDFaP8fKAR2Og&start_radio=1
