OUR LORD GUIDES HIS FAITHFUL SERVANTS
Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” —Acts 15:36
So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers. —Acts 16:5
On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there. One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us. —Acts 16:13-15
As we are about the work of our Lord, He gives us further guidance. Paul had a desire to “follow-up” those who had believed “in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” This is a great example for us. We need to follow up with those our Lord is working in or has worked in as we serve Him. In doing so, we can encourage others “in the faith” and there will be growth in the number of believers.
When we are faithfully serving our Lord this way, He leads us to others whose hearts are open to the gospel message. Groups of people can be impacted as we lovingly obey our Lord and do His will. And so, Dear Father, may this be the case this week-end as we have this disciple -making workshop on Saturday and baptism on Sunday. May there be a sincere commitment to those attending and faithfully follow You the rest of their lives by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of our Lord Jesus. Yes, may this be so and all for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5vUCEth7p4&list=RDZ5vUCEth7p4&start_radio=1
