JESUS FINISHED THE WORK!

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.”  With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. —John 19:30

When Jesus said, “It is finished” —“everything has been accomplished which by the appointment of the Father as revealed in the Scriptures I must do and bear.”

“No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay… But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself.” —Psalm 49:7-9, 15

The work of Jesus was completed on the cross and “through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 1:4).  Jesus proved He was the Son of God through the resurrection.  What no man could do, the Son of God did—

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” —I Peter 1:18-21

It took the Son of God to pay for the sin debt of mankind and Jesus “is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2).  Jesus already did the work to redeem mankind and now “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Electricity in your wall does you no good unless you plug into it.  You can know it is there in the wall.  You can be close to it, but unless you plug into it you will not know its power.  It is the same with Jesus.  You can know about Him.  You can be hearing about Him.  You can be close to those who know Him.  But unless you call on His Name in sincerity, His finished work on the cross will be of no benefit to you.  Need to call on His Name?  Do so now!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk&t=10s Yes, Dear Father, may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  All for Your honor and glory!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcmqSfr1ENY&list=RDPcmqSfr1ENY&start_radio=1
