LOVING OBEDIENCE TO OUR SOVEREIGN LORD
“How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.” —II Samuel 7:22

There are those who have not called on the Lord to save them (Romans 10:13) because they “like their freedom.” But what they do not understand is that they need to “come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to his will” (II Timothy 2:26). They think they are living in “freedom” and yet they are actually imprisoned by the devil— imprisoned to do the devil’s will and the greatest desire of the devil is to keep people to experience the freedom that only exists in Jesus. Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31-32). True freedom comes with loving obedience to what God’s Word says.
The greatest command, Jesus said, is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). To love Him is to obey Him and walk in the freedom He gives. Oh yes, “How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.” So now, Dear Father, may I lovingly obey Your desires by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son Jesus.
