CHILD OF GOD

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. —I John 3:1-3

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. —I John 3:18

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. —I John 4:6

Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. —I John 5:10-12

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. —I John 5:19-20

             Child of God, fellow follower of Jesus—

• Our Father’s great love is lavished upon us
• The world does not know us, because it does not know Him
• We don’t know what we will be yet
• We will see Jesus
• We will be like Jesus when He appears
• We purify ourselves because of the hope of seeing Him
• We are not to love with words
• We are not to love in speech
• We are to love with actions
• We are to love in truth
• We are from God
• Those who know God listen to us
• Those not from God do not listen to us
• This is how we know the Spirit of truth
• This is how we know the spirit of falsehood
• We accept God’s testimony
• Those not accepting God’s testimony make Him out to be a liar
• God’s testimony is that He has given us eternal life
• God’s testimony is that this life is in His Son
• God’s testimony is that those who have the Son have life
• God’s testimony is that those who do not have the Son do not have life
• We know the whole world is under the control of the evil one
• We know that the Son of God has come
• We know the Son of God has given us understanding
• We know Him who is true
• We are in Him who is true by being in His Son Jesus
• He is the true God
• He is eternal life
