I WANT TO HEAR YOU!

Again and again I sent my servants the prophets, who said, ‘Do not do this detestable thing that I hate!’ But they did not listen or pay attention; they did not turn from their wickedness or stop burning incense to other gods. —Jeremiah 44:4-5

We will certainly do everything we said we would… —Jeremiah 44:17

            How patient our Lord is!  Again and again He sent His servants to warn the people not to serve or worship other gods.  But they would not listen or pay attention to the servants sent with His message.  They continued in their wickedness.  They continued serving and worshipping other gods.  Their stubborn heart’s attitude is seen in these words— “We will certainly do everything we said we would.”  Yes, they would do what they want to do and not what our Lord desired them to do.

            What about you?  Are you listening to our Lord God Almighty and the servants He has sent?  Or, are you just doing what you want to do?  Are you serving other gods?  Are you acting like a god, thinking you are in control of your own life, the captain of your own ship, the determiner of your destiny?
