THE MOUTH
THE MOUTH
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. —Proverbs 10:11
The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of sense. —Proverbs 10:21
The mouth… a well of good or evil… Jesus said, “But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person…” (Matthew15:18-20). James adds, “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?” (James 3:9-11).
Yes, the mouth can bring forth evil or good. God’s desire is that “The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life.” Is my mouth a fountain of life? Is your mouth a fountain of life? The fountain of life has “lips of the righteous nourish many.” Who am I nourishing? Who am I helping to live a life pleasing to God? How am I living a life that is pleasing to God? Am I living a life pleasing to God? If so, life will occur in the lives of others as I seek to serve them. Oh, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus! May this be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2q9UbaBHzI
