LOOK BEYOND YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES AND SEE WHAT HE IS DOING IN THE WORLD!

How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen?  Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save?  Why do you make me look at injustice?  Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?  Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.  Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails.  The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.  “Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed.  For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. —Habakkuk 1:2-5

See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. —Habakkuk 2:4

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. —Habakkuk 2:14

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.  Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. —Habakkuk 3:2

The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. —Habakkuk 3:19

Complaints, complaints… We have them in every generation and that is because we live in an imperfect, sinful and fallen world.  But let us not just look at our immediate circumstances.  Indeed, let us look at the nations and see what God is doing… and He is doing!

We, who are righteous in Christ (II Corinthians 5:21), are to live by faith.  We are to trust that God is working out His plan and we need to line up with what He is doing.  And what is He doing?  He is moving toward the point where “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”  Yes, “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).  And we will “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Look at what has happened in the world since Jesus said, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).  Oh, that our Lord would repeat His wondrous works in our land here in the U.S.A. to wake us up and bring honor and glory to His Name.  Dear Father, You are our Sovereign Lord and You can enable us to “tread on the heights.”  May it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, may it be so!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsQ58qn7G_4
