THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM IS TO FEAR THE LORD

THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM IS TO FEAR THE LORD

Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. —Psalm 128:1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. —Psalm 1:1-3

Those who have a healthy relationship with our Lord—

  • Fear the Lord
  • Walks in obedience to Him
  • Walks not with the wicked
  • Waits in the way of sinners
  • Sits with mockers
  • Delight in the Word of God
  • Spends consistent time pondering His Word
  • Is like a tree planted by streams of water
  • Yields fruit in its season
  • Leaves do not wither
  • Prospers in all they do

The fear of the Lord—

  • Is the beginning of wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7)
  • Is a fountain of life (Proverbs 14:2)
  • Is to avoid evil (Proverbs 16:6)
  • Is to be humble (Proverbs 22:4
  • Is the key to knowledge (Isaiah 33:6)

May these characteristics be true of you and me.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ35aiGAchc
