I AM HIS SHEEP!
I AM HIS SHEEP!
Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. —Psalm 100:3
It is such a joy to “know that the Lord is God.” The simple fact is “It is he who made us. So may jump through “hoops” to explain away that fact. It is so basic and foundational to our existence. But here are those “who suppress the truth by their wickedness.” They want to do wickedness. They want others to do wickedness. They do not want to live for God and they do not want others to live for God. They need “to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26). They are following the pattern of Satan, doing his will as his trapped captive.
As for us who have called on the Lord Jesus and are saved (Romans 10:13), we acknowledge “he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.” Oh, what joy that—
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” —Psalm 23
And Jesus did say, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep… I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep” (John 10:11, 14-15). Such a joy to know that I am His “sheep!” Oh, I pray that you who are reading this are His “sheep” as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rKKybs7o2Q If not, call on His Name right now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6khv6pGkw&t=6s
Dear Father, I thank You for Jesus being my Shepherd. May I be a faithful “sheep” by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, may it be so!
