PROCLAIM JESUS!

PROCLAIM JESUS!

Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.  See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. —Deuteronomy 30:11-16

Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.” But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” —Romans 10:5-13

The Holy Spirit of God moved Paul to write and make the application from Deuteronomy to Jesus.  Moses wrote, “WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN TO GET IT AND PROCLAIM IT TO US SO WE MAY OBEY IT?”  “IT” is mentioned ten times in the Deuteronomy passage and then it says, “For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws.”  We are told on John 14:21 that “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”  Faithful obedience shows our love for God.

“IT” is only mentioned once in the parallel passage in Romans and points to Jesus and “THE MESSAGE CONCERNING FAITH THAT WE PROCLAIM: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

It is very clear, the message about Jesus is near us and for those of us who know Him, it is in us.  Now, let us proclaim Him to others as Paul, moved by the Holy Spirit of God, mentioned that this is the message we are to proclaim.  Dear Father, may we be faithfully obedient sharing this glorious message about Jesus by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus, showing our love for You.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZvAzw3Smik
