BE HOLY AND SHINING IN THIS DARK WORLD!

BE HOLY AND SHINING IN THIS DARK WORLD!

Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy. —Leviticus 19:2

You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. —Leviticus 20:26

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” —I Peter 1:14-16

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. —Psalm 36:9

As we seek to live a holy, set apart from the world life, He will reveal more of Himself to us— “Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him” (John 14:21).  When it comes to this verse we find out when it comes to the command to be holy as He is holy—

  • We have His commands
  • We are to keep His commands
  • We show we love Him by obedience
  • We will be loved by our Father by loving Jesus
  • We will be loved by Jesus
  • We will have Jesus reveal Himself to us

Yes, as we seek to live life as God desires us to, then “in your light we see light.”  Think about it…

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.  If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.” —I John 1:5-10

We need to live holy, set apart lives for our Lord, and “not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).  You and I, who know Jesus—

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.” —Ephesians 5:8-13

So, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is” (Ephesians 5:15-17).  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus and all for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaTwx0ehbvM
