PASS ON THE TESTIMONY OF HIS WAYS AND PROVISION

Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Take an omer of manna and keep it for the generations to come, so they can see the bread I gave you to eat in the wilderness when I brought you out of Egypt.’ ”  So Moses said to Aaron, “Take a jar and put an omer of manna in it. Then place it before the Lord to be kept for the generations to come.”  As the Lord commanded Moses, Aaron put the manna with the tablets of the covenant law, so that it might be preserved. The Israelites ate manna forty years, until they came to a land that was settled; they ate manna until they reached the border of Canaan. —Exodus 16:32-35

Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord.  They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it! —Psalm 22:30-31

            The Lord commanded that an omer of manna be kept for future generations to see.  It was to be placed alongside the tablets of the covenant to be preserved.  This was a testimony to the ways of God and the provision by God.  Those yet to be born are to know of His righteousness and His wonderful works.  The law and manna were two tangible testimonies that those living and those yet to be born were to know about.

            As I think about what our Lord gave the Israelites— His ways & His provision— how has He done that for you and for me?  First, He has given us His Word and we have it in book form and in so many audio and digital applications.  For we who are living now and those who will be in the future, He has clearly given us His ways.  Second, how has He provided for you and me?  What testimony of provision in our own lives are you and I to ponder, apply and pass on for future generations?

            God’s Word is clear that we are to be passing on to future generations His righteous Words and Ways.  Are we doing that so they in turn can also do that with those yet to be born?  Oh, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, may this be so!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvOuEVA2h2Q
