CLOTHED IN HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS! — II Corinthians 5:21
The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. —Revelation 3:5
For we who have called on Jesus and are following Him as His disciples, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:37-39). So, we who know Jesus are conquerors through Jesus and Him alone!
As “conquerors” —
- We will be clothed in white garments. — “(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)” —Revelation 19:8
- Our names will never be blotted out of the book of life. —Those blotted out have never called on Jesus to be made righteous before death— “Charge them with crime upon crime; do not let them share in your salvation. May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous. —Psalm 69:27-28
- Jesus will confess our name before His Father.
- Jesus will confess our name before His angels.
So, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, let us rejoice that our name is written down in glory. Jesus told His disciples, after they had returned from a fruitful ministry— “However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20). Yes, let us rejoice that our names are written down in heaven in the Lamb’s Book of Life and we are eternally secure because of Him! “Nothing impure will ever enter it (the new Jerusalem), nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 21:27). Rejoice!
