JESUS IS OUR HOPE!
JESUS IS OUR HOPE!
Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. —Proverbs 23:5
Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. —Proverbs 23:17-18
Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked, for the evildoer has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out. —Proverbs 24:19-20
Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Do not envy sinners or fret because of evildoers. We do not desire to be like the ungodly whether they be rich or poor. We do not want to focus on riches and surely, we want to be “free from the love of money.” Remember, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (I Timothy 6:10). It is our attitude toward money which will determine how we use it.
Our Hope is our Lord and “we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). We place our hope in Jesus and are not envious of those who are wealthy in this world’s riches. Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, we have a companion, our glorious companion, the Creator of all who will never leave us or forsake us. And… one day we will be with Him forever and ever in that perfect place… heaven!
Those who do not know Jesus need to hear the good news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6khv6pGkw&t=240s
“Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me—those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches? No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay.” —Psalm 49:5-9
He is our only Hope riches will not save anyone. They cannot, but we can use the wealth God has given to resource to get the gospel out to others. May we do so! With the glorious hope we have, we need surely not envy those who do not know Jesus. We surely do not need to focus on getting wealthy. Let us be content in our awesome Lord who is always with us and as heirs with Him! How rich is that!
Dear Father, please help us to use whatever wealth we have to bring honor and glory to Your Name. You are our glorious Hope. Thank You that You called me into relationship with You forever! Oh, what joy, what delight… what glorious expectation we have in Jesus. Now, may I faithfully be and do what You desire by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-1fwZtKJSM
