QUESTIONS… COMPLAINTS… TRUST HIM!
QUESTIONS… COMPLAINTS… TRUST HIM!
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. —Proverbs 15:3
The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but he loves him who pursues righteousness. —Proverbs 15:9
The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. —Proverbs 15:29
The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. —Proverbs 16:4
God has purpose in everything and so much we do not understand, “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). He has given us His Word and that is all we need for His Holy Spirit to guide us in His ways even when we may have questions.
How is God working out His purposes in this world? I don’t have the answers to so many questions. Habakkuk struggled with the wickedness going on in his day—
“How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.” —Habakkuk 1:2-4
He was complaining about the situations of his day just as, I am sure, we have complained about what is going on in our day. But, how did the Lord answer Habakkuk? “Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told “(Habakkuk 1:5). Watch… our Lord is working among the nations and we will be utterly amazed. Be watchful… observe…
Our Lord knows what is going on “in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” There is absolutely “Nothing in all creation (that) is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13). He knows who is pursuing wickedness and He knows those pursuing righteousness and He will answer the prayers of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is an abomination to Him.
Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, we may not have the answers to all of our questions, but “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (I Corinthians 15:58). Our Lord God Almighty is working out His purposes. Let us trust Him and be faithful. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So may it be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ4lAVu9VwU
