MY DESIRE!
MY DESIRE!
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! —Psalms 143:10
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. —I Corinthians 10:31-33
Paul’s desire was to do the will of God for the benefit of others so that many might be saved. Is that our desire? Do we really want our God to teach us His will and then be led by His Holy Spirit? Is that truly our desire?
Following our Lord is a lifestyle, a transformational lifestyle. He changes our thought processes to be able to understand His will (Romans 12:2). It matters not what we are doing— “whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” So, whatever I am doing, wherever I am, I am to be and “do all to the glory of God.”
Paul said he was not out “seeking my own advantage.” Instead, his desire was not to offend anyone, but “to please everyone in everything I do.” Paul was not looking out for his own interests; he was looking out for “the interest of others” (Philippians 2:4).
Is this how we desire for our Lord to work in and through us for the benefit of others and that they may might come to know Jesus? Oh, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, this is my desire! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiS2QzvDhQc
