GIVERS AND NOT TAKERS
GIVERS AND NOT TAKERS
The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives. —Psalm 37:21
This verse out of Psalms is pretty clear. “The wicked borrows and does not pay back.” What does this say about our nation? We are almost $35,000,000,000,000 in debt https://www.usdebtclock.org/ and it is not going down. The government has an insatiable appetite for tax-payers money and it is not typically spent very well.
We used to teach our children when they were growing up— “Respect other people’s property because the way you treat their property is the way you respect or disrespect the owner. Now, let me ask you a question— “Is the government respecting or disrespecting the tax-payers?” Yeah, if you look at the debt clock, the answer is obvious. The government does not respect tax-payers. No, instead they are using tax-payers to accomplish their agenda.
On the other hand, the righteous are generous and gives. Those who love our Lord Jesus are to be givers— but wise givers. The righteous have a desire to help others, serve others and encourage others by their giving. Quite the contrary when compared to the wicked who desire to get, get, get and yet have no plan to give back what is owed.
Brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, let us be faithful givers as our Lord desires. Afterall, it is He who said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Yes, Dear Father, may we who follow You seek to be faithful in giving as You desire. May it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYhQATf8HDw
