GOD’S TIMETABLE
GOD’S TIMETABLE
So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come. —Psalm 7:30
Man had a plan and that plan was that they wanted to arrest Jesus and put Him to death. But… His hour had not come. God had a plan and yes it did include Jesus eventually being arrested and being put to death. But it would happen on God’s timetable, not men’s. The hour would come on God’s schedule that Jesus would be arrested and crucified and then rise from the dead. That time was not yet and so man could not do anything to bring that about. God is in control. He is Sovereign over all!
This should be comforting to us. God has work for us to do as well— “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). We need to seek to be faithful and obedient in that work on His timetable, not ours. As we serve Him it needs to be out of love for God and love for people.
God’s work in our lives will go forward. We need to be sensitive to Him and be faithful in working where He desires us to work. So, let us do so for His honor and glory. Yes, Dear Father, this is my desire to honor You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son, Jesus. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8
