UNGODLY LEADERSHIP WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE BY OUR LORD!

UNGODLY LEADERSHIP WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE BY OUR LORD!

And set two worthless men opposite him, and let them bring a charge against him, saying, ‘You have cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death. —I Kings 21:10

And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, “Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.” But Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, what the LORD says to me, that I will speak.” —I Kings 22:13-14

But a certain man drew his bow at random and struck the king of Israel between the scale armor and the breastplate. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am wounded.” —I Kings 22:34

And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil —John 3:19

Wicked and ungodly leaders seek to get there way at any cost and will do anything to achieve their desires.  So it was with Ahab and Jezebel.  When Naboth did not want to sell his vineyard to Ahab, Ahab pouted on his bed and would not eat.  Jezebel said, “Do you now govern Israel? Arise and eat bread and let your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite” (I Kings 21:7).

Jezebel devised a plan to false accuse Naboth of blasphemy, punishable by death.  She told leaders to find “two worthless men” to bear witness that Naboth “cursed God and the king.”  They were to find him guilty of this and then stone him to death.  And that is just what they did.  All because Ahab wanted Naboth’s vineyard.

But our Lord God knows all things and “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).  Oh, and everyone… everyone will be held to account.  You can be sure of that.  In this case, both Ahab and Jezebel would die untimely deaths.  Ahab would die by a “random” arrow shot into the sky which hit him between his armor and he bled to death.  Jezebel would be thrown out a window from a height that killed her.  God will carry out justice in this life or after death.  But be assured, He will hold everyone accountable… everyone.

There are evil men who will not come to the Truth.  Their deeds are evil and they will do whatever they desire to get their way.  They think that just because they are in a power position of authority that they can get away with it.  Be comforted, brother and sister, fellow followers of Jesus because our Lord said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.” (Deuteronomy 32:35; Romans 12:19; Hebrews 10:30).  We know the end story of this age.  Be comforted, be encouraged, be patient and be faithful to Him while we wait. Yes, Dear Father, let me be about Your desires with the rest of my life here by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBHcvJhc6Pk
