A Thought-Provoking Question!

A THOUGHT-PROVOKING QUESTION!

But he said to them, “How can they say that the Christ is David’s son? For David himself says in the Book of Psalms, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.’ David thus calls him Lord, so how is he his son?’” —Luke 20:41-44

And what is the answer to this question that is a quote from Psalm 110:1?  Even in Proverbs 30:4-6—

“I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.  Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know! Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.”

The Jewish leaders could not or would not answer this question.  Even from the Old Testament writings we know that God has a Son!  Now, that really stretches our understanding that— “The LORD our God, the LORD is one” (Deuteronomy 6:4).  People can try to explain the “Trinity,” but what mortal man can really understand?  All the illustrations we use to try to explain the “Trinity” fall short, but the fact of who God is does not change.  After all, if we could explain everything about God, would that not put us on the same level as God?  But… there is so much about who He is and what He does that we cannot explain, but… “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29:29).  Some things we will not fully understand in this life, “but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).

So, our Lord God Almighty has given us all we need to believe.  He has given us His Creation, His Word, His Son and His Spirit.  If we do not believe what He has already given us, then “neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead” (Luke 16:31).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIpnW3rtRQ4 May I trust You, Dear Father, with my life… forever.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son.
