I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. —Luke 15:7

Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents. —Luke 15:10

Wow… imagine the joy and rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents!  Think of that.  When we share the gospel it has the ability, when a person repents and calls on Jesus, to affect the emotions of those in heaven.  Do we get excited about someone who repents and calls on Jesus?  We surely should!

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” —Romans 10:14-15

People need the Word of God brought to them because “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17).  So, a person needs to hear the message or read the message because “these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).  How are you and I verbalizing the good news about Jesus?  How are you and I getting the written Word about Jesus to others?  Let us be doing so.

Want to impact heaven with joy and rejoicing?  I hope so.  I want to!  Tell someone about Jesus today or give them a Gospel of John today.  Verbalize the message to someone or give them the message in written form.  Yes, Dear Father, may we be sensitive to the people we come into contact with and have a passion to see others repent and call on Jesus.  May I share the good news by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son.  Yes, may this be so… today!
