THE WICKED SEX TRAFFICKING OF OUR YOUTH!

Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord. —Leviticus 19:16

Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness. —Leviticus 19:29

            The people of the nation of Israel were not to “do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the Lord.”  They were not to “degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.”  Surely these were good directives then and now.

            As individuals or a nation, we are not to endanger our neighbor’s lives or degrade our daughters or sons by making them a prostitute and therefore filling our land with wickedness.  Unfortunately, this is exactly what we have done.

            It is estimated that 200,000 youth under age 18 are sex trafficked every year in the United States of America.  85% of those trafficked are youth from the United States, 15% are youth brought here from other countries.  Our youth’s lives and foreign youths are greatly endangered through sex trafficking.

            We are directly or indirectly degrading our daughters and sons by allowing this to happen.  So many in our nation and world do not understand the extent of this wickedness taking place at all levels of society.  Maybe this is why it is allowed to happen.  Maybe it is because those who are to be making laws are lawless themselves.  Why is this lawlessness among our youth allowed to take place?  I would suggest when a government is lawless, then lawlessness among the people will increase— “Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil” (Ecclesiastes 8:11).  That is what is happening in our country.  Dysfunctional government breeds evil and that is clearly seen today.  The land is filling more and more with wickedness.

            Open borders, lawless government, pornography, callousness, indifference, ignorance… all fuel this wickedness in our land.  Pray that steps will be taken even greater than what is now to protect our youth. Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be!
