I AM FREE!
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. —Revelation 1:5-6
“Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.” These words from the children’s song are not just for children, but for all people— “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). God so loves us that He sent Jesus to do a work that would free everyone who trusts in Him from their sins.
“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” (John 19:30). He has done the work on the cross and through the resurrection (Romans 1:4). Now, “Whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Saved from their sin and saved to serve Him and share Him— “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” ( I Peter 2:9) So, brother and sister, fellow followers of Jesus, let us be faithful do so!
