THIS IS JESUS!
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. —Hebrews 1:1-4
And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.” —Hebrews 1:10-12
You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet.” Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. —Hebrews 2:7-9
Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. —Hebrews 2:14-15
Who is Jesus?
- God has spoken to us through Jesus in these last days
- Jesus has been appointed heir of all things
- God created the world through Jesus
- Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory
- Jesus is the exact imprint of God’s nature
- Jesus upholds the universe by the Word of His power
- Jesus made purification for sins
- Jesus sat down at the right had of the Majesty on High
- Jesus is superior than the angels
- Jesus Name is more excellent than the angels
- The heavens are the work of Jesus’ hands
- The heavens will wear out, but Jesus will remain
- Jesus’ years will never end
- Everything is in subjection to Jesus
- Nothing is outside His control (though at present we do not see everything in subjection to Him)
- Jesus, for a time, was made lower than the angels
- Jesus was crowned with glory & honor because of suffering death
- By God’s grace Jesus suffered death for everyone
- Jesus took on flesh and blood like us
- Jesus destroyed the devil who has the power of death
- Jesus delivered us from lifelong subjection to fear of death
Dear Father, I thank You for making it so clear as to Who Jesus is. How awesome! How amazing! How astounding! How indescribable! I am so grateful of Your love for me.
