TOTAL FREEDOM TO BE REALIZED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE JESUS AND FOR ALL CREATION
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. —Romans 8:20-23
All of creation is not now what it was intended to be when it was first created. Sin has corrupted every aspect of all creation— in earth and the heavens. Man’s sin has impacted everything everywhere. Creation is waiting to “be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.” Yes, all creation groans as it waits for the escape from bondage to freedom.
This freedom that creation awaits is the freedom that believers have now and forever. It is freedom from sin which we experience now, but will know fully in glory. This is the freedom that all creation desires. We ourselves who know Jesus “groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.” Yes, how we groan as we wait, but oh what joy is ahead when we finally experience total freedom from sin and are with Him forever. Yes, Dear Father, I look so forward to being with Jesus and to be free from sinful affects forever and ever with all who love you. Until then, may I live faithfully for You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So may it be!
