THOSE OF THE TRUTH ARE GUIDED BY GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. —-John 16:13-14

Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice. 38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” —John 18:37-38
Those who are “of the truth” listen to what Jesus says. Pilate did not know what truth even was— even though the Truth was standing right in front of him! Do you know the Truth? What is exciting about what Jesus said is that “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.” Now, you and I who have believed the truth, who listen to the Word of God, can trust that He will guide us “into all truth.”
Not only will He guide those who know Him into all truth, but He will do that for those who WILL believe through our message! It is God’s Holy Spirit that “will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned” (John 16:8-11). So, here’s some truth— His Holy Spirit proves the world wrong about—
- Sin— it is utterly sinful not to believe in Jesus and people are in the wrong not to do so! This is a huge affront to God and is a sin that is unforgivable to all who do not come to believe in Jesus and live for Him.
- Righteousness— Jesus is totally righteous, one with the Father and went back to glory to be with Him after He died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave. People are in the wrong when they think they can make themselves right before God and go to heaven. It is only through accepting the righteousness of Jesus, and calling on Him to save them, that one can be made right with God and fit for heaven.
- Judgment— the prince of this world is already judged and that judgment will be carried out in God’s time. Not only will Satan have judgment carried out on him, but all those in his kingdom of darkness, those who have not believed in Jesus, will be judged as well.
God’s Holy Spirit is calling people. Is He calling you? Will you call on Jesus? Is the Father drawing you to Jesus? Is His Holy Spirit showing you who Jesus is and will you call on Him to save you from your sin? Do you understand that there is nothing you can do that will make you righteous before God except through Jesus and calling on Him? Do you understand that judgment is coming to Satan and all who are in his kingdom of darkness— those who have not believed in or call on Jesus to save them? Dear Father, I thank You for Your Holy Spirit and for You Son Jesus who made it possible for me to be saved from my sin, to be made righteous in Jesus and to escape the judgment to come.
