FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD ARE SHAKEN, BUT OUR FOUNDATION IS NOT!
But he answered, It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ —Matthew 4:4
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. —Psalm 82:3-5
When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do? —Psalm 11:3
The foundations of the world may be shaken, but brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, our foundation is never shaken! “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and eat against that house, and it fell with a great rash.” —Matthew 7:24-27
Let us live, not only “by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” This is what true life us— both by eating physical food and spiritual food— the Word of God. If a person is not living that way, then they are not really living! So, what can the righteous do when the foundations of this world are shaken? Well, we be and do what we are always called to be and do…
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. —Ephesians 5:8-16

So, the world’s foundations may be shaken, but our Foundation, Jesus and His Word, will never be shaken… never! Praise God for His Son and our going to be forever with Him. Shaken foundations of this world cannot change that!
