BE FAITHFUL!

BE FAITHFUL!

Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth!  I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God. —Psalm 78:1-8

We are to listen to God’s Word and not repeat the mistakes of those who went before us.  Praise God for the Word He has handed down to us.  Not only may we share God’s Word with our children, but may our children share with those children yet to be born of them that those yet unborn would in turn share with their children!  God’s Word was shared with us, we are to share His Word with our children, our children are to share with their children yet to be born that those yet to be born would also share with their children.  How many generations is that?  Someone… us… our children…children yet to be born… share with their children—  5 generations!  They are to be told that they would be obedient to God and set their hope in Him.  Oh, how this is needed today!

I am reminded of II Timothy 2:2— “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others” (II Timothy 2:2).  Jesus— Paul— Timothy— reliable people—others… again, 5 generations!  So what about me?  Someone— me… and then who am I impacting who will in turn impact others who will impact others?  Who are the “reliable people” I am impacting that in turn will “teach others?”  How about you?  Who are you impacting that will impact others?  We don’t do this alone.  Jesus said He would be with us until the end of the age.  We are on co-mission with Him (Matthew 28:18-20).  So… let’s be faithful to Him and work with Him.  That is what counts!

Dear Father, please help me to be faithful to what You have called me to by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son Jesus.  Oh, so may it be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghowDhd-GUM
