WISDOM COMES FROM GOD

WISDOM COMES FROM GOD

But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.  It is not the old who are wise, nor the aged who understand what is right. —Job 32:8-9

Just because a person is old does not make him wise.  Wisdom is the proper application of knowledge— to apply knowledge effectively.  It is God that gives man understanding and makes a person wise.  Just because a person is aged does not mean he is wise and understanding.

“I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.” —I Kings 3:12

“Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.” —I Kings 4:30

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.” —Psalm 111:10

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” —Proverbs 1:7

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” —Proverbs 4:7

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” —Proverbs 9:10

“The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD—” —Isaiah 11:2

“For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.” —Luke 21:15

“For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.” —I Corinthians 1:21

“Asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.” —Ephesians 1:17

It is God that gives man wisdom and understanding.  Those who do not walk with Jesus will only have “worldly wisdom” and not “Godly wisdom.”  That is why those of the world cannot understand who Jesus is and what He did at the cross.  God has to give that wisdom and understanding.  Let us pray for those around us that do not have the “wisdom of God.”  They are only living according to the “wisdom of this world” and “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” (Mark 8:36).  May we encourage them to trust Jesus.  Yes, Father and may we do this by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZqRBqGsEYM
