BEWARE FO ISOLATORS

BEWARE OF ISOLATORS

Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.  A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion. —Proverbs 18:1-2

See a person who has all the answers and does not listen to anyone else?  See a business like this or a government official or a local church or a denomination?  This principle of isolation can be applied to many situations.  Let’s take a look.

            Those who isolate themselves—

  • Seek their own desire
  • Break out against (quarrels, rebels, rages against) sound judgment
  • Takes no please in understanding
  • Take pleasure in only expressing his opinion

Beware of those who isolate themselves like this.  Surely in the Body of Christ, the church, there is no place for someone to be isolating themselves.  We are meant to be interconnected and interdependent just as our bodies are—

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ… But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body… The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.  Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. —I Corinthians 12:12, 18, 19-21, 25-27

May of those who isolate themselves just want their own way and want to do their own thing… whatever that may be.  They think they are the smartest person and have everything figured out.  They do not reason with others.  Instead they want others to align with what they think.  What they think is not based on the Word of God.  It may be based on a twisted understanding of the Word of God, but their isolation is a dead giveaway as to who they really are.

So beware of those who isolate themselves.  Instead, gravitate toward those who seek input from others, desire to be with others and learn from others.  Mostly, in the Body of Christ, seek to be with those who desire to unitedly go forward in the work of our Lord Jesus.  That is what the church, the body of Christ is to be all about… a body working together for the glory of God.  Isolators seek their own glory.

Dear Father may I never isolate from the Body of Christ, but seek to live and work with many of those seeking Your glory and honor.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3M3nnD8xKw&list=RDu3M3nnD8xKw&start_radio=1
