WHOEVER HAS MY EAR IS WHO DETERMINES MY DESTINY!

WHOEVER HAS MY EAR IS WHO DETERMINES MY DESTINY!

Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, a servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his lord, and certain worthless scoundrels gathered about him and defied Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and irresolute and could not withstand them. —II Chronicles 13:6-7

If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. —II Chronicles 15:2

Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. —John 14:21

Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. —John 14:23

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. —John 14:27

Where are you seeking to get peace?  Whose Word are you listening to?  Where is your love focused?  Who is influencing your life?  These are import questions to answer, not only to live life now, but the answers will affect where we will spend eternity— In heaven forever with Jesus or in hell separated from Him forever (I cannot fathom that, but that is the truth of God’s Word).

Rehoboam, Solomon’s son, listened to “certain worthless scoundrels (that) gathered about him and defied Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and irresolute and could not withstand them (I Kings 12:1-24).  There are those who will seek to manipulate others to get their ideas put into practice.  In this case Rehoboam was young and could not “withstand” his peers and caved into their ideas.  I would say whether young or old there are those who seek to manipulate others who are indecisive and if one is not grounded into the Word of God they will not be able to withstand them from God’s perspective.  We surely see that in our culture today!

There are those who say they love God, but how can that be loving Him when they blatantly disobey His clear Word and rebel against what He says.  Jesus said those who love Him will keep His Word, not disobey His Word.  And those who are forsaking Him and what He has to say will be forsaken by Him (Romans 1:24, 26, 28).  When that happens they will turn to worshipping created things, sexual perversions, and will do and invent all kinds of evil (Romans 1:18ff).

So whoever we are listening to will determine our destiny.  One would be wise to listen to what God says above all others.  Not to listen to Him will only end in disaster.  Dear Father may I listen to You above all by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zaaiFp4RSM
