YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY!

YOUR ETERNAL DESTINY!

And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’ ” —Luke 16:27-31

This “rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day” (Luke 16:19) was now in “this place of torment.”  Apparently he had not thought much about what was really important— his relationship with our Lord God Almighty.  He was focused on earthly pleasures and did not prepare for when He would meet God.

Death will come at a time that none of us can determine.  But, it is an appointment that none of us will be late for (Hebrews 9:27).  Even though this “rich man” was not prepared for it and ended up in hell, he had a real desire for his brothers not to wind up in the same place as he did.  His desire was that Abraham send Lazarus “to my father’s house— for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment” (Luke 16:27-28).  But Abraham’s response was “If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead” (Luke 16:31).

You have heard the Word of God from the messengers of God.  If you will not believe them when they speak of Jesus then you would not believe even if someone came back from the dead to tell you of Jesus.  Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday— the day Jesus rose from the grave over two millennia ago.  It is a fact… but how many will not believe in the One who has come back from the dead proving He is indeed the very Son of God with whose hands our destiny lays.

Lazarus on the other hand believed in the servants of God as they shared the Word of God.  His final destiny was in that glorious place being comforted.  The rich man was in torment and so much so that his desire was for “Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame” (Luke 16:24).  The rich man desired mercy, but the time of mercy ended with his faithless death.  So it will be for all who do not call on the Name of the Lord Jesus to be saved.  Don’t be one of those… Instead, repent— turn from your ways and call on Jesus and follow Him.  Then you will be destined for that glorious home… forever! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRSGXKsv7IU

Oh glorious day, Dear Father to be finally home.  May I finish this race faithfully and may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
