BELIEVE GOD’S WORD, NOT SATAN’S

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”  “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” —Genesis 3:2-5

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?  But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”  Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. —Genesis 4:7-8

Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. —II Timothy 2:25-26

Whose word are you listening to— God’s or Satan’s?  Satan is a destroyer, a divider, a deceiver, directly opposed to God and wants people dead before they call on Jesus to be saved from their sin and to a relationship with God through Jesus.  Satan contradicts what God has to say and he twists the truth to seek an advantage.  His desire is to disconnect people from God or to keep them disconnected.  It you are disconnected from God then Satan has control over your life!  If you are disconnected from other followers of Jesus then Satan has control over your life!

The serious destructiveness of sin and Satan’s schemes does not take long to raise it’s ugly head.  Immediately after being confronted by God about their sin they put the blame on someone else and did not take responsibility for their own disobedient actions.  Then their very first child, under Satan’s trap and doing his will, killed his brother.  Sin causes a person, who is under Satan’s influence, not to be thinking right and they need “to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”

From the time when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned, man makes the choice to be under God’s influence or to be under Satan’s influence.  There are now two kingdoms— the Kingdom of Light/Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness/kingdom of Satan— “For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you” (I John 3:11-12).  The world is headed up by Satan and James 4:4 tells us “anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”  Be careful about listening to the world’s counsel!  The world is not a friend of the follower of Jesus Christ.  Dear fellow follower of Jesus, be wise, be aware, be watchful and be wise as to who you listen to!  Test everything by His Word!

Yes, Dear Father, may I cling to what You have to say and be aware of the worldly deceptions that the devil uses.  Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be for Your honor and glory!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zaaiFp4RSM
