FAITH… YOU HAVE OR YOU DON’T

FAITH… YOU HAVE IT OR YOU DON’T

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. …  And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. —Hebrews 11:1, 6

Faith is not blind because we are confident in Him who created all things and there is evidence for our Creator all around us— “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).  In reality, those with “blind faith” are those who put their trust in others who claim God does not exist without any evidence to substantiate their claims.  Just saying words does not make it true.

Faith is being absolutely assured of what we do not see.  Design screams out for a Designer and there is design all around us— multitudes of patterns to evidence God.  Can you imagine people looking at cities and towns, autos, ships and planes and claim there was no designer, no creator of these?  Only the fool would seek to support such a claim.  Yet hoards of people will claim this about the systematic universe and all it contains… including us.  God says of those people who reject the clear evidence about Him that they are fools— “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God” (Psalm 14:1).  It is a choice of the heart of an individual.  It is an inner decision that they have made that has nothing to do with the evidence.  It comes right down to Satan’s lie of being like God.  People want to be gods of their own lives, sitting on the throne of their own desires.  They do not want to acknowledge or be accountable to God.  But just thinking or saying words do not make it true.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”  Nobody can be pleasing to God without putting their faith in Him.  How can one deny Him when “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.  Without speech or language, without a sound to be heard, their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4).  Go out under the starry night sky and observe.  God is speaking His existence to you.  Ponder the newborn baby.  God is speaking His existence to you.  Carefully consider the animals and vegetation.  God is pouring forth His massively abundant communication to you!  Will you listen?  You can give reasons for not believing, but you have no valid excuse.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOL3pIqqdKo And read His Word— https://biblehub.com/niv/john/1.htm

For we who have put our faith/trust in Jesus we look around at what He has created and are greatly comforted.  Surely His Creation shows forth “His eternal power and divine nature.”  We ponder the greatness of His hands and are awe struck at His immensity.  Who can fathom Him?  He is so far beyond us and yet we celebrate His coming to earth as a baby at Christmas as God’s gift to us at Easter to take the penalty for our sins that whoever believes and trusts in Him will live with Him forever in that perfect place— heaven!  Brother and sister, fellow followers of Jesus— Rejoice!

Dear Father I am so grateful that You took my blinders off so I could know You, the Creator of all things.  Thank You Jesus for taking the penalty and punishment for my sin so I could know You and be with You forever in glory where all will be right and perfect.  Lord I long to be there with You and all who love you.  Until then may I live faithfully for You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be!
