SET FREE!

 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. —Galatians 5:1

 You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? —Galatians 5:7

 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” —Galatians 5:13-14

             We have been set free in Jesus— “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:3-32). Are you holding to Jesus’ teachings? Are you really His disciple? If so then “For freedom Christ has set us free.”  

            Freedom does not allow us to do whatever we want to give opportunity for the flesh, to live according to its desires. No, now we are to be servants, loving our neighbors as ourselves. We are not to submit to any yoke of slavery again.   Instead we are to stand firm in our freedom and live accordingly, serve accordingly.

            Be aware of those who would love to bring us back into slavery. They are slaves to the flesh and they would encourage us to be enslaved to the flesh again as well. Stand firm in your freedom and run well by being obedient to the truth. Do not fall for someone’s lies that would only enslave you. Brother and sister, let us live out our calling to be servants that are free in Jesus. Yes, dear Father may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
