OUR EVER-PRESENT REFUGE AND STRENGTH!
OUR EVER-PRESENT REFUGE AND STRENGTH!
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. —Psalm 46:1-3
Trusting in your own strength? It will fail. Why not trust in a Refuge who is always present? Why not trust the One who gives us strength and is our strength? Why not trust Him who is “an ever-present help in trouble?”
When God is our refuge, when He is our strength then we know we have “an ever-present help” whatever troubles may come upon us. We do not go through them alone! He is there with us. As we live like this we will not fear because our trust in Him and not ourselves or anyone else. The earth may give way around us. The mountains may fall into the sea. The sea may roar and foam around me. Mountains may quake near me… yet I need not fear because He is with me… with me to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20) and He will never leave me nor forsake me and He is my helper so I will not be afraid (Hebrews 13:5-6).
Do you need a refuge? Do you need strength? He is ever-present to help you, but He will not force Himself on you. You need to turn to Him and trust Him. Why would you not? There is no one else… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwmUP8ZOHtI
Dear Father I am so grateful that You are ever-present to be my strength and refuge. Oh what a joy to know that I can depend on You 100% of the time. So may I be faithful to Your desires for me as I trust You and may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. Yes, may this be so!
