 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” —Jeremiah 1:5

             Brother and sister before you were born God knew all about you. He formed you to be you in your mother’s womb. You are you and He wants to work in and through you for your benefit, the benefit of others and for His glory to radiate.

            God does not make junk! It is true that sin has affected all of His creation, but He is in the work of redeeming His creation. That includes you! He knows all about you— the numbers of hairs on your head and every thought and intent of your heart. He knows your hurts, the things you struggle with, your fears… yes, He knows all there is to know about you. He knew these things even before you were born! He created you.

            “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).  Brother and sister you are God’s “handiwork.”   Wow, grab a hold of that statement!   You are God’s workmanship— He designed you, He created you and you are His work. He has great purpose for you and He highly values you! How much does He value you? Take a fresh look at what He did at the cross for you!

            Let us live this day and the rest of our lives knowing we have great purpose as God’s created ones. This should fill our heart with joy.
