THE WISE AND THE FOOL

THE WISE AND THE FOOL

Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. —Proverbs 26:12

The slacker is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer discreetly. —Proverbs 26:16

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth— a stranger, and not your own lips. —Proverbs 27:2

A person who is wise in their own eyes lacks humility.   They think they know it all.   “There is more hope for a fool than for him.” They are stuck on themselves and what they think and that you need to listen to them because they have all the answers. Again, they are wise in their own eyes even when seven people give him input. They do not listen to counsel and they praise themselves instead of practicing humility.

This is the type of person you surely do not want to take counsel from nor even be around. There is nothing you can say to encourage them. It is a one way line of communication, a monologue and there is no dialogue. “There is more hope for a fool than for him.” Let us serve with those who truly want to serve our Lord and people as He has shown us (Matthew 22:37-40).

Dear Father may I not think I know it all because I surely know very little. Help me to not be self-focused and to receive counsel from others who love You. I thank You for them who have spoken into my life as You have guided them. It is exciting to see how You have worked, are working and will work in the lives of others in Your Body. May You receive all glory and honor and may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eQd3K2Fxp4
