PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

PUT YOUR TRUST IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. —Psalm 1:1-3

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision… Blessed are all who take refuge in him. —Psalm 2:1-4, 10-12

Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God. —Psalm 146:3-5

Are you like a healthy tree? Are you one that counsels against the Lord? Are you one that puts their trust in man? Or, do you trust the Lord and hope in Him?

The man who is like a healthy tree is not yoked with those who do not know the Lord (II Corinthians 6:14-18). He does not walk in their counsel and does not seek to be influenced by them.   Instead, the man who is like a healthy tree gets his counsel from the Lord as he ponders His Word persistently and consistently. Yes, the person who does this will be like a healthy tree.

Rulers of the world generally are against the Lord and plan against Him and His people. Take a look at tyrants of the world and see how they treat the Lord’s people. The way they treat the Lord’s people is actually treating the Lord that way!

  • He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” —Acts 9:4
  • We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” —Acts 26:14
  • ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ —Acts 26:15

Saul’s persecution of Jesus’ disciples was also a persecution of Jesus! So it is with those who persecute Jesus’ disciples today, whether rulers or any others, they are actually persecuting Jesus as well!   And those that persecute Jesus’ disciples do not want anything to do with Him— they had better heed the warning— “Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled.” The Lord God Almighty will have the last word!

Trust in the Lord and not in man. Man’s plans are but a moment and if they are against the Lord then they are futile.   On the other hand our Lord’s plans will stand and come to pass. None can stay His hand. Now, who are you going to trust?

Dear Father may I put my trust continually in You and what You have to say. Oh, that I would not trust the plans of man which are but for a moment. I am so grateful to know You and to know the Your desires You have revealed to me.   Now, may I be faithfully about Your desires by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-PYpyaGXYcc

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. —Psalm 20:7
