TRUST GOD’S WORD OVER MAN’S!
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. —Isaiah 55`:10-11
The rain and snow comes down, but does not go back up the way it came down. No, instead it waters the earth. Springtime snow melts and the rains come. Vegetation starts to flourish. Green fields, green leaves, flowers and other plants begin to sprout and grow. Gardens are planted, birds are singing and food is provided more abundantly for wild animals. This is a constant that has happened for centuries and will continue to the end of time— “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease” (Genesis 8:22). Here’s why I need not fret. God is ultimately in control and those who fear-monger impending climate crisis are liars. God is not a liar and I will trust what He has to say.
Just as the rain and snow accomplish His desires for the earth, so also does the Word that comes out of His mouth. His Word will not return to Him empty. He has purpose in the communication He speaks and His Word will accomplish what He desires. His Word brings success for which He has sent it out. Take comfort, joy and rejoice that what He says He will do He will do. We can count on that fully! How much can we depend on His Word? Well, until the earth does not endure anymore and there is no longer “seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” In other words this will not happen until the end of the age (Matthew 28:20; Revelation 16). Dear Father I will trust what You have to say over what man has to say. It man is not speaking according to Your Word then I will cling to what You have to say over man’s. You have the Words of eternal life and the answers to life. Why would I go anywhere else? Oh, may I seek to be obedient to Your Word in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus out of my love for You. May it be so!
