ASTOUNDING!
“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!” —I Kings 8:27

How amazing is this? He is the one who created the heavens and earth, but they cannot contain Him. This is astonishing. How can we even begin to ponder how grand He is? Look at the universe and wonder? Look into the night sky and consider? See the sun, moon and stars and contemplate how truly mighty He is! Our Lord God Almighty cannot be contained in a building! And yet…
- “Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.” —Hebrews 10:5
- “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” —I Corinthians 6:19-20
- “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. —Colossians 1:27
- “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” —John 14:9
- “For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.” —John 5:18
This is truly astounding. The One Who cannot be contained in the whole universe came in the Person of His Son, Jesus! We just went through the remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus. How mind stretching is this— “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him (John 3:16-17). The One who Created us (Genesis 1: John 1; Colossians 1; Hebrews 1) came into His own created world to be killed by His creation! He did this because of His love for us and so we could be with Him forever. Astounding that He now lives in each person who has called on His Name by His Holy Spirit. Thanks You Father for this truly amazing work You have done for us by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. May I now live faithfully for You. So be it!
