BOAST IN OUR LORD GOD
BOAST IN OUR LORD GOD
In God we have boasted continually, and we will give thanks to your name forever. —Psalm 44:8
“But let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the LORD. —Jeremiah 9:24
Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” —I Corinthians 1:21
But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” —II Corinthians 10:17
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. —Galatians 6:14
Boasting… yes, let us brag and show off Him who is above all and has created all and who sustains all. Yes, let us boast about Him. Let us boast about the one who knows the thoughts and intentions of every man. Boast in Him who holds the life of every man in His hand. Boast of the one who knows every single star and has named each one. Brag on the one who us ultimately in control of all things. Show Him off who knows when each person is going to be born and when each person is going to die. Lift the one up who puts nations down and bring them also into existence.
Let us boast of the One who loves us so much that He was willing to leave the glory of Heaven to come to this sin infested world to allow His own creation to kill Him on a wretched cross. But let us also boast in Him who death had no power over and He rose from the grave, proving Himself to be the Son of God (Romans 1:4). Yes, boast of the One who ascended back to Heaven and is coming one day to set all things right. He is the One and the only Perfect One that we can and should boast about.
Men boast about their accomplishments. Men boast as if they are something really special. But the one who truly knows Jesus will boast in Him. Why? It is because we know everything comes from Him and anything that is good that is in us or comes through us is because of Him. How can we boast in ourselves when it is He that does it in us and through us? No, let us only boast in our Lord— all He is and all He does. Yes, let us boast in Him!
Dear Father what a marvel You are. You are Awesome beyond description. Words cannot fully describe You or even come close. May I boast in You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and by the authority of Jesus. So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUxI-ynsTnM&list=UUf1NPIFOBwzTLVQiEDnq4Cw&index=6
