BE READY FOR OUR REDEEMER’S RETURN!
For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. —Hebrews 9:24-28
How wonderful that Jesus is in heaven “to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.” Yes “we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:1-2). “Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (Romans 8:34). What a glorious God we have— For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Yet if you have not trusted Jesus, if you have not called on His Name (Romans 10:13) then beware— “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” and “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them” (John 3:18, 36). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk&t=44s
Jesus was not like the Jewish high priest who entered “the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” Jesus resolved the sin problem at the cross for us— “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” (I Peter 3:18). He is “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:25). It is so wonderful to know that Jesus gives us eternal life and no one can snatch us out of His hand or His Father’s hand. They are united in this! We are safe in Jesus! (Romans 8:31-39).

Dear Father I thank You for all that You have done for me in Jesus. I am so glad that You have paid my sin debt and have given me eternal life. I know this is all Your doing through Jesus at the cross. There is no way that I could have even paid the eternal price for even one of my sins. I am so grateful for this awesome work of Jesus, for the tremendous mercy and grace You have extended to me. Now it is my desire to live faithfully for You and to be about Your business. I cannot do this in my own strength. I fail miserably when I do so. I need Your Holy Spirit to empower me to do Your will and to do Your will in the authority of Jesus. May this be so!
