SAFE IN THE SOVEREIGN!

When Baruch son of Neriah wrote on a scroll the words Jeremiah the prophet dictated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, Jeremiah said this to Baruch: “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch: You said, ‘Woe to me! The Lord has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest.’ But the Lord has told me to say to you, ‘This is what the Lord says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot what I have planted, throughout the earth. Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.’ ” —Jeremiah 45:1-5

            There have always been hard times on this earth. It is a fallen world and sin always brings bad results. There is not a time when sin is good. Praise God that only He can turn terrible things around for His glory and the benefit of His people and the lost. The thing to remember is that regardless of the situations and circumstances we find ourselves in, however difficult they may be, our Lord is ultimately the One in control. Nothing can happen without His knowledge or that are outside His plans and purposes.   So let us be encouraged that we are safe in His hands. Dear Father may we, Your children, trust You fully even when things happen that we do not understand. We understand this— You are working out Your Plans and purposes and we are part of them. Help us to trust You fully and be faithful in the part of the plan You desire us to be faithful in. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus.   So be it!
