GENERATIONAL FAITHFULNESS

“And as for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from this time forth and forevermore.” —Isaiah 59:21

            His Word will be in my mouth and not depart out of it as His Spirit works in, on and through my life. Yes, His Holy Spirit will work in and through my life by His Word to have an impact on my generation, the next generation and the generation after that. Oh, may that be the case through all the generations that follow me until our Lord returns. This is my desire!

            It is such a joy to know Jesus and to serve Him. It is also a tremendous joy for my children to know Him and serve Him.   Oh that each of them would do so sincerely from their hearts. But then to see my children’s children know and serve Jesus is such an increased joy!   Oh, that they would have a mighty impact in this world for Jesus and the generations after them as well— truly, “from this time forth and forevermore.” Yes, Dear Father, may this be so in the family You have given me and in their families that follow them. May we have faithful followers of Jesus that come after us right down to the end of time. May it be so for Your honor and glory in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
