ALL KNOWLEDGE COMES FROM GOD

He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge— the LORD—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath. —Psalm 94:-11

Where does knowledge come from? Does it originate with man? No it does not. “Can anyone teach knowledge to God?” (Job 21:22). Of course they cannot. Yet so many people live like they know better than God. They actually think they are smarter than God. How ridiculous is that?

A person cannot even understand who Jesus is unless “God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ’” (II Corinthians 4:6). Without God’s light shining in our hearts we could not know and understand who Jesus is.   Even after the Ephesians called on the Lord for salvation it was Paul’s desire, as the Holy Spirit of God moved him to write, “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better” (Ephesians 1:17). Even to know Him better we need the Holy Spirit’s guidance as followers of Jesus.

Speaking about those who do not know the Lord we read in II Timothy 2:25-26 that they “must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”   Yes it is God who reveals knowledge to people so they can escape the devil’s trap.

Just as the created world we see had a beginning, so knowledge had a beginning.   So as God created all that we see, so also God is the creator of knowledge. Just as the created world can be used for good or for evil, so knowledge that is given to man can also be used for good or evil. All of us will stand before God one day to give account as to how we used the knowledge He revealed to each of us.

For a person who does not believe that all knowledge comes from God, think of how children are educated and the children before them and the children before them… all the way back to the beginning. We all had to be taught, but who began the teaching? God is the Ultimate Teacher and just as children go through phases of instruction, so also the whole human race goes through phases of instruction from God. Each generation has knowledge revealed to them by Him. Yes, we will all give an account to Him one day for what we did with the knowledge He gave us. A very sobering though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CBNE25rtnE

Dear Father please help me to use wisely the knowledge You have revealed to me for Your purposes.   So may I use that knowledge for Your purposes and may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
